There are loads of simple things we can do in our everyday lives to cut our CO2 emissions and slash our impact on the climate. It's easier than it sounds.

A typical energy saving light bulb uses around 80% less electricity than an incandescent bulb. Our unique easy-to-use energy saving calculator allows you to see how much money you can save and how much CO2 you will cut!
Lots of Savings
Just one energy saving lightbulb could save you around £6 a year for brighter bulbs and because energy saving bulbs last 10 times longer than a standard bulb, it could save you around £40 before it needs replacing.
If you fit all the lights in your house with energy saving bulbs you could save around £40 each year, that's more than £600 over the lifetime of all of the bulbs!
These days, the price of Energy Saving lightbulbs start from just £1 - £2, and many supermarkets have special two-for-one and half-price promotions so you'll usually recoup any extra cost within a year.
Energy saving light bulbs use around a quarter of the electricity of incandescent bulbs to generate the same amount of light. So where you'd normally use a 60W bulb, you'll only need a 11-14W energy saving recommended equivalent.
Savings are for wattages shown. Your actual savings will vary based on the wattages you purchase. When comparing incandescent or halogen bulbs to energy saving bulbs or fixtures, compare the light output, or lumens, and not Watts. Watts equal the energy used, not the amount of light.
Saving energy is good for the environment as well as your bank balance and, with modern lighting technology, is as easy as plugging in a new light bulb!
